Raspberry Cranberry Jello Salad

Raspberry Cranberry Jello Salad is a classic holiday dish that has to be on the table for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Our Grandma made it every single year, and we all looked forward to it. We have carried on her tradition with this recipe we are sharing today.

It is a fun and festive side dish that looks so pretty on the table. And it only takes FIVE ingredients to make! Once you get the hang of using the mold and getting the Jello out of the mold, it is an effortless dish to put together.

Enjoy this sweet tasting Jello salad as you garnish it with whipped cream, cranberries, and orange zest!

What’s great about this recipe is that it’s versatile. You can serve it as a side dish or dessert! To serve it as a dessert, add some whipped cream to make it more like a dessert!

How long is cranberry salad good for?

Cranberry Jello salad will stay fresh in the refrigerator for up to seven days. Be sure to store it in an airtight container.

How far ahead can you make jello?

You can make this salad the day before you are ready to serve it and store it in the refrigerator. This will save you some time on your busy day of holiday cooking! Garnish with desired toppings before serving.

How do you get jello out of a jello mold?

A good tip for getting the jello out of the mold is to dip the mold in warm water. Make sure the water is not too hot. Moisten the tips of your fingers while the mold is in the warm water and pull the edges of the gelatin gently away from the mold’s edges. Finally, moisten a serving plate, which will allow you to position the mold on the plate, and then place it upside down over the mold and turn it right side up.

The Flavor and Recipe Variations

You can use any flavor of red jello that you’d like. We really like the raspberry flavor because it compliments the cranberry sauce and orange juice very well.

You can also add some pecans or walnuts to the mixture right before you pour it into the Jello mold.

How long is it good for:

Serve: You can keep this at room temperature for up to 2 hours before you’ll need to pop it back into the refrigerator.

Store: Leftovers will keep in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days.

Freeze: Jello does not freeze and defrost well; therefore, we do not recommend freezing this Cranberry Jello Salad.

How to get the kids involved with this Raspberry Cranberry Jello Salad recipe:

Ages 2-3: Let your kiddo help pour in the cans of cranberry sauce and crushed pineapple. They can also pour in the pineapple juice.

Ages 4-5: Have your kiddo help put on the garnishes for the final touches. They can also assist in pouring in the ingredients to prepare the Jell-O.

Ages 6-8: This is an easy recipe to let your child prepare independently with your supervision. Teach them how to boil water as well.

Ages 9-11: Supervise them while they prepare the entire recipe. Remember to have them read it twice before beginning the recipe.

Ages 12+: Let them prepare the entire recipe, unsupervised, while you do the happy dance in the corner!
