Kodiak Cake Oatmeal
When you need a filling breakfast without a ton of effort, this oatmeal recipe is for you. It blends rolled oats, cinnamon, brown sugar, and vanilla extract into a warm, lightly sweet mixture that feels cozy and satisfying. The addition of Kodiak mix adds extra protein and fiber. Unlike baked muffins or oatmeal cups made in a muffin tin, this version skips the oven, pan, and eggs, making it faster and easier while still delivering that hearty, scoopable texture.
This recipe takes basic oatmeal up a notch, turning it into a family-friendly breakfast that also works well as a make-ahead snack. You can customize each batch with toppings like blueberries, strawberries, nuts, or a drizzle of maple syrup. It’s a simple way to skip the store-bought cups and enjoy a comforting, customizable oatmeal breakfast at home.

How To Make Kodiak Oats
Boil the ingredients, reduce the heat, cook, and serve. Let me show you how.
- Add ingredients to a pot and boil.
- Reduce the heat and cook until it thickens.
- Garnish and serve.

Recipe Tips for Success
Stir well during the last few minutes of cooking. The oats thicken quickly at the end and are most likely to stick to the pot if you do not stir them.
Use old-fashioned oats. Quick oats will not work with this recipe as they will turn mushy. And steel-cut oats will not cook properly in the short time frame.
Keep the heat at medium-low. Don’t be tempted to turn the heat up or down; you may end up with a soupy texture.
No-Bake Oatmeal Cups Recipe FAQs
This is a great recipe for meal-prepping. You can prepare it and store it in mason jars in the fridge for up to four days.
Add a tablespoon of water or milk, and stir well beforereheating in the microwave or on the stovetop.
It may have cooked too long. Try adding a tablespoon of warm milk to help thin the consistency.
I love berries, bananas, apples, and peaches.
Ingredients & Estimated Cost:
Here is everything you need to make this recipe, along with a few substitution recommendations.

- Old-fashioned Oats (2 cups – $0.70): I do not recommend substituting the oats, as it will change the overall texture of the oatmeal.
- Kodiak buttermilk pancake mix (5 Tablespoons – $0.55): While you can substitute regular pancake mix, you will not get the added boost of protein, which is the big bonus of this recipe.
- Cinnamon (1 teaspoon – $0.10): Use nutmeg as a substitution.
- Whole milk (2½ cups – $0.50): 2% milk works too.
- Water (1 cup – $0.00): Water cooks the oats quickly.
- Vanilla Extract (1½ teaspoons – $0.45): Make homemade Vanilla in the Instant Pot for a budget-friendly option.
- Brown sugar (3-4 Tablespoons – $0.15): Use honey as an alternative.
- Salt (a pinch – $0.01): Kosher or sea salt will work.
The recipe cost is calculated based on the amounts needed and may vary due to fluctuating grocery costs.
