With six kids, all with their own picky-eater quirks, I know the struggle of creating delicious meals that everyone will devour, all without breaking the bank.
That’s why I love being the Production Manager and Senior Editor at Easy Budget Recipes. My experience feeding a crew (and the 7+ years I’ve spent managing social media and writing) helps me bring fresh ideas and content that resonates with our audience.
I’m all about making mealtimes fun and affordable, and I get to share that passion every day.
Expertise
I grew up surrounded by numbers. My dad was an accountant, and he taught me the value of accuracy, organization, and making every dollar count. Later, as a project manager at an accounting firm, I fine-tuned my skills in budgeting and managing resources. At Easy Budget Recipes, I blend my love for numbers with my passion for good food, making sure every recipe is priced out, well-tested, and ready to shine, allowing our readers to enjoy delicious recipes while being aware of what they are spending.
For over seven years, I’ve been diving headfirst into the world of food blogging, working alongside amazing recipe communities like Food Folks and Fun and Posh Plates. Being a writer and social media manager for these fantastic groups has given me a wealth of experience in understanding what food lovers crave – not just delicious recipes but also a warm, welcoming online space. Whether it’s sharing mouthwatering photos, engaging with our audience, or crafting informative content, it’s all about building a community that celebrates good food on a budget with a healthy dose of creativity!
In addition, my role as co-owner of The Cozy Fork has provided me with invaluable hands-on experience in managing multiple successful food businesses. This further strengthens my understanding of the challenges and opportunities families face in preparing delicious and affordable meals.
Experience
My skills go beyond just whipping up meals for a hungry bunch. My bachelor’s degree in sociology gave me a gift for writing and understanding people. It lets me see what makes our audience tick, what they need, and how I can connect with them in a meaningful way. So, I don’t just write informative content; I craft pieces that resonate on a deeper level, building a real connection with our readers. But that’s not all! Don’t forget my years spent in the trenches of high school teaching.
Teaching experience might seem far removed from food blogging, but trust me, it’s been invaluable. Just like in the classroom, I’m here to explain things clearly, break down complex recipes into easy steps, and keep things engaging. I know how to anticipate questions, address different learning styles (because, let’s face it, everyone cooks differently!), and, most importantly, make sure everyone feels successful in the kitchen. That translates to creating content that’s informative, approachable, and leaves you feeling confident enough to tackle any recipe.
