The Flavor and Recipe Variations
- Instead of breakfast sausage, you can use Italian sausage.
- If you don’t have heavy cream, then you can brush the sausage rolls with milk.
How long is it good for:
Serve: As with most recipes with meat, you can leave these out at room temperature for up to 2 hours before they will need to be stored in the refrigerator.
Store: Keep the sausage rolls in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. We like to reheat these in the oven instead of the microwave (the microwave tends to make these soggy). Just place them on a baking sheet and heat until the rolls are warmed, about 5-7 minutes.
Freeze: Freeze finished rolls in an airtight container or Ziploc bag for up to 3 months. To reheat, place on a baking sheet and heat until the rolls are warmed, about 7-10 minutes.
