This Peppermint Dip is an easy 5-minute dessert dip that is perfect for the holidays. It’s a favorite for holiday parties and get-togethers.

You will give your dessert table a festive look when you serve this dip. The dip is light, fluffy, sweet, and creamy with a bold peppermint flavor. You will want to lick the bowl clean; this dessert dip is just that good!

- 8 ounces cream cheese – $1.96
- ½ cup powdered sugar – $0.14
- ¼ teaspoon peppermint extract – $0.04
- 8-ounce container Cool Whip – $0.82
- ½ cup peppermint candy discs or candy canes – $1.00
- ½ cup white chocolate chips – $0.74

- First, with either a handheld mixer or a stand mixer, beat the cream cheese until smooth. This should take about a minute.
- Next, add in the sugar and peppermint extract and beat until combined. This should take about 30 seconds.
- Then add the Cool Whip and beat until smooth. Beat the dip for about one minute.
- Fold in the peppermint candies and white chocolate chips.
- Finally, put the dip in a serving bowl and serve. Or place in the fridge to chill until ready to serve.
RECIPE VARIATIONS AND SUBSTITUTIONS
- In addition to serving this dip with chocolate graham crackers and chocolate-covered pretzels, chocolate or vanilla wafers and Oreos would also be delicious.
- Instead of Cool Whip you can use 1 ½ cups heavy whipping cream and ¼ cup of powdered sugar, whiped to stiff peaks.
- You can easily turn this dip into a frozen pie! Just add the filling to a pre-made chocolate pie crust and freze for 2-3 hours.
Serve: As with most recipes with dairy products in them, you shouldn’t leave this dip out for longer than 2 hours.
Store: The dip can be stored in an airtight container for up to 1 week in the refrigerator.
Freeze: Place the dip in an airtight container and wrap it in plastic before placing it in the freezer. Remove from the freezer to thaw and stir before serving.
Place the peppermint candy discs or candy canes into a Ziploc bag and lay it on a flat surface. Then using either a mallet or the bottom of a can of food, hit the bag to break the candy into pieces. Continue doing this until the pieces are split into the size you would like them to be.
GET KIDS INVOLVED
Ages 2-3: Let your little one dump in the crushed peppermint discs and the white chocolate chips. Guide their hands as you show them how to fold in the discs and chips.
Ages 4-5: Your child can use their creativity to put the graham crackers and pretzels on display on a serving tray in preparation for serving with the dip.
Ages 6-8: Have your child pre-measure the ingredients. Teach them how to use the stand mixer to beat together the ingredients.
Ages 9-11: Supervise them while they prepare the entire recipe. Remember to have them read it twice before beginning the recipe.
Ages 12+: Let them prepare the entire recipe, unsupervised, while you do the happy dance in the corner!
