How To Make French Silk Pie

- First, chill a metal mixing bowl and beaters in the freezer for at least ten minutes.
- Next, melt the chocolate for thirty-second intervals. Stir the chocolate in between each interval until smooth.
- Then, place the melted chocolate into the fridge and remove the bowl and beaters from the freezer.
- Beat the heavy cream until frothy, and add powdered sugar and vanilla extract. Continue beating until it turns to whipped cream.
- Next, remove the melted chocolate from the fridge and mix half of the whipped cream with a handheld mixer on low.
- Add the pie filling to the premade crust and top with the remaining whipped cream and shaved chocolate.
- Finally, place the pie in the fridge to chill for one hour before serving.
Recipe Variations and Substitutions
- Instead of chocolate shavings, you can use mini chocolate chips for garnish.
- Homemade whipped cream is best, but you can use Cool Whip instead. Make sure you defrost before using.

Ingredients
- 10 inch premade graham cracker pie crust
- 8 ounces milk chocolate chopped
- 16 ounces heavy whipping cream
- 3 Tablespoons powdered sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 ounce milk or semi-sweet chocolate shaved or curled
Instructions
CHILL BOWL:
- Chill a metal mixing bowl and beaters in the freezer for 10 minutes or longer.
MELT CHOCOLATE:
- In a medium-sized, microwave-safe bowl, melt chocolate in 30-second intervals, stirring in between. Once it starts to melt, continue in 15-second intervals until smooth.
- Chill the melted chocolate in the refrigerator while making the whipped cream.
MAKE WHIPPED CREAM:
- Remove the bowl and beaters from the freezer. Add heavy cream and beat until frothy (about 1 minute).
- Add powdered sugar and vanilla extract and continue to beat until you have reached a whipped cream consistency.
ASSEMBLE PIE:
- Remove the melted chocolate from the refrigerator. Add half the whipped cream to the chocolate and blend well with a handheld mixer on low.
- Add pie filling to the prepared crust.
- Top with remaining whipped cream and the shaved chocolate.
CHILL AND SERVE:
- Refrigerate at least 1 hour before serving.
- Serve and enjoy.
