Recipe FAQs
Can I use different types of pretzels or Bugles?
Yes, feel free to use any shape or flavor of pretzels and Bugles that you prefer.
What if I don’t have candy melts?
You can substitute with white chocolate chips or almond bark. Just melt and drizzle them the same way.
Do I need to line the baking sheet with parchment paper?
It is not necessary, however, using parchment paper can make cleanup easier and prevent the candy melts from sticking.
What’s the best way to melt candy melts?
The easiest way is in the microwave. Heat in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth.
Storage Tips
SERVE: like placing the mix in a Halloween Bowl for serving. If we’re gifting or Booing someone, we like to place the mix in clear plastic bags with a gift tag.
STORE: Store the mix in an airtight container or bag for up to 7 days.
FREEZE: Different candy ingredients in this mix don’t freeze and defrost well. Therefor, we do not suggest freezing this Halloween Mix.
Recipe Variations
My snack mix is super easy to customize with whatever you have on hand or to mix things up a bit. You can toss in items like nuts, Chex, popcorn, candy corn, Cheez-Its, Cheerios, Reese’s Pieces, or even some raisins to make it your own.
