These No-Bake Chocolate Oat Cookies are easy to make and delicious any time of the year. However, we like making them for the holidays when we need an easy cookie option for our cookie trays.
Our recipe costs $4.20 to make twenty-four cookies. That is only $0.18 per cookie!
Are you looking to fill up that cookie tray for the holidays? Our top favorites include these Snickerdoodle Cookies, our Chocolate Dipped Gingerbread Cookies, and our Christmas Brownie Cookies.
No-Bake cookies are a classic childhood recipe. We all remember making them as children. At first, our moms taught us but then we began making them on our own because they are so simple to make.
They are perfect for summertime when you do not want to heat the kitchen, and the kids want a treat when you need something quick and easy to take to a potluck, on a holiday cookie tray, or whenever you have a craving for something sweet!
We have passed on the tradition to our children and have been teaching these to make these cookies. They love to make them after school for an easy weeknight dessert or after-school snack. This no-bake dessert is a family favorite.
We have changed up the recipe just a bit from our childhood days. It is a little more sophisticated in taste but still super easy. They are loaded with Nutella, oats, and cocoa powder.
Mix the ingredients, scoop them on the baking sheet, and set them in the fridge to set. With these easy steps, you will be enjoying these tasty chocolate cookies in less than thirty minutes!

RECIPE FAQs
Yes, you can substitute old-fashioned oats for quick oats in this recipe. However, it will change the texture of the cookie slightly. Old Fashioned Oats are a little bigger and heartier than quick oats, so the cookies may seem a little firmer than they will when using quick oats, which are smaller in size.
This is most likely because the cookie mixture did not cook long enough. Be sure to let the mixture come to a boil while in the saucepan to help the cookies set correctly.
Store the cookies in an airtight container to help keep them from drying out. We like to use a Ziplock bag and keep them in the fridge.
GET KIDS INVOLVED
Ages 2-3: Have them help you dump the ingredients into the bowl. Guide their hands as you mix the dough. A fun counting activity would be to count the cookies as you scoop them onto the baking sheets.
Ages 4-5: Your child can help mix the ingredients. They will also enjoy sprinkling the cookies with sea salt flakes before setting the cookies in the fridge.
Ages 6-8: Have them pre-measure all of the dry and wet ingredients for you. Teach them how to scoop the cookie dough into mounds on the baking sheets.
Ages 9-11: Supervise them while they prepare the entire recipe. Remember to have them read it twice before beginning the recipe.
Ages 12+: Let them prepare the entire recipe, unsupervised, while you do the happy dance in the corner!
BUDGET TIPS
We recommend purchasing Nutella from Costco. You can buy two jars for just a little more than it costs to buy one jar at the grocery store.
