Equipment

  • large bowl
  • whisk
  • medium saucepan
  • Measuring cups & spoons
  • rubber spatula
  • Ice cream maker

Ingredients

APPLE MIXTURE:

  • 1 ¼ cup Granny Smith apples diced
  • 3 Tablespoons butter
  • 2 Tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 ½ teaspoons apple pie spice
  • Pinch of salt

ICE CREAM BASE:

  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • ¾ cups white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon cinnamon

GARNISHES:

  • Caramel syrup
  • Graham crackers
  • Apple pie mixture

Instructions

ICE CREAM BASE:

  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, whole milk, sugar, vanilla extract, and cinnamon. Cover and place in the refrigerator for 1-2 hours.
  • Pour the mixture into the prepared ice cream maker and churn for the time suggested by the ice cream maker instructions. About 15-20 minutes.

APPLE PIE MIXTURE:

  • Cook the apple and butter in a medium saucepan on a medium heat for 5-8 minutes or until the apples are tender.
  • Add in the brown sugar and apple pie spice and cook for another 1-2 minutes.
  • Remove from the stove and let the mixture cool.

CHURN ICE CREAM:

  • For the last 2 minutes, add in the apple mixture and continue to churn.
  • Ice cream will be a soft texture, so if you want to firm it up, place it in an air-tight container and freeze for about 2 hours.
  • Garnish with caramel syrup and graham crackers. Enjoy!

Notes

Storage Tips:
