- 10 inch premade graham cracker pie crust
- 8 ounces milk chocolate chopped
- 16 ounces heavy whipping cream
- 3 Tablespoons powdered sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 ounce milk or semi-sweet chocolate shaved or curled
MELT CHOCOLATE:
In a medium-sized, microwave-safe bowl, melt chocolate in 30-second intervals, stirring in between. Once it starts to melt, continue in 15-second intervals until smooth.
Chill the melted chocolate in the refrigerator while making the whipped cream.
MAKE WHIPPED CREAM:
Remove the bowl and beaters from the freezer. Add heavy cream and beat until frothy (about 1 minute).
Add powdered sugar and vanilla extract and continue to beat until you have reached a whipped cream consistency.
ASSEMBLE PIE:
Remove the melted chocolate from the refrigerator. Add half the whipped cream to the chocolate and blend well with a handheld mixer on low.
Add pie filling to the prepared crust.
Top with remaining whipped cream and the shaved chocolate.
- Instead of chocolate shavings, you can use mini chocolate chips for garnish.
- Homemade whipped cream is best, but you can use Cool Whip instead. Make sure you defrost before using.
