French Silk Pie

This French Silk Pie is so easy to make. It’s creamy, and has the perfect balance of chocolate and homemade whipped cream.

Ingredients

  • 10 inch premade graham cracker pie crust
  • 8 ounces milk chocolate chopped
  • 16 ounces heavy whipping cream
  • 3 Tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 ounce milk or semi-sweet chocolate shaved or curled

Instructions

CHILL BOWL:

  • Chill a metal mixing bowl and beaters in the freezer for 10 minutes or longer.

MELT CHOCOLATE:

  • In a medium-sized, microwave-safe bowl, melt chocolate in 30-second intervals, stirring in between. Once it starts to melt, continue in 15-second intervals until smooth.
  • Chill the melted chocolate in the refrigerator while making the whipped cream.

MAKE WHIPPED CREAM:

  • Remove the bowl and beaters from the freezer. Add heavy cream and beat until frothy (about 1 minute).
  • Add powdered sugar and vanilla extract and continue to beat until you have reached a whipped cream consistency.

ASSEMBLE PIE:

  • Remove the melted chocolate from the refrigerator. Add half the whipped cream to the chocolate and blend well with a handheld mixer on low.
  • Add pie filling to the prepared crust.
  • Top with remaining whipped cream and the shaved chocolate.

CHILL AND SERVE:

  • Refrigerate at least 1 hour before serving.
  • Serve and enjoy.

Notes

  • Instead of chocolate shavings, you can use mini chocolate chips for garnish.
  • Homemade whipped cream is best, but you can use Cool Whip instead. Make sure you defrost before using.
