  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup light brown sugar packed
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs room temperature
  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • 12- ounce bag semi-sweet chocolate chips



  • Move the oven rack to the upper-middle and lower-middle positions. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Line baking sheets with silicone baking mats or parchment paper.


  • In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • In a large bowl, beat butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Add eggs and vanilla and mix until well combined.
  • Gradually add in flour mixture and mix until combined. Don’t overmix.
  • Fold in chocolate chips until evenly distributed.


  • Scoop batter using a 1 ½ Tablespoon cookie dough scoop and place on the prepared baking sheets about 2 inches apart.


  • Bake for 8-10 minutes for soft cookies, longer for crispy. Rotate the pans halfway through baking.


  • Remove the pans from the oven and place them on wire racks to cool for 5 minutes, and then transfer cookies to the wire racks to cool.
  • Serve warm or cooled to room temperature.


Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for 2-3 days.
