Slow Cooker Creamy Tortellini Soup With Chicken and Bacon

  • 2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup chopped yellow onion
  • 8 ounces cream cheese
  • 1 ounce package dry ranch seasoning mix
  • 1 pound bacon cooked and chopped
  • 6 cups chicken broth
  • 19 ounce frozen cheese tortellini
  • 3 cups shredded cheddar cheese


  • Chopped bacon
  • Shredded cheddar
  • Chopped parsley



  • Place chicken, onion, cream cheese, ranch dressing mix, bacon, and chicken broth into your slow cooker.


  • Cover and cook on LOW for 5 hours or HIGH for 3 hours.
  • Remove the chicken and shred with two forks.
  • Return the chicken to the slow cooker and add in the frozen tortellini.
  • Cover and let cook 45-60 minutes or until the tortellini is cooked and tender.


  • Stir the cheddar cheese into the soup right before you are ready to serve.
  • Garnish with more cheese, bacon, and parsley (all optional).
  • Serve.


If the cream cheese is a little chunky use your whisk after your remove the chicken to make the soup smooth.
