- ¼ cup cocoa powder
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- ½-1 cup whole milk
Melt butter in a small saucepan over medium heat.
Add in the cocoa powder, granulated sugar, and ½ cup of milk.
Whisk together the ingredients until fully incorporated.
Continue to whisk the mixture as you bring it to a low boil.
Continue to whisk for a few minutes until the syrup thickens.
Slowly whisk in additional milk if needed to reach your desired consistency.
Simmer the syrup for 30-60 seconds.
Remove from heat.
Serve warm or transfer to an airtight container and refrigerate until serving.
