Ingredients

  • 5 Tablespoons salted butter
  • ¼ cup cocoa powder
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • ½-1 cup whole milk

Instructions

  • Melt butter in a small saucepan over medium heat.
  • Add in the cocoa powder, granulated sugar, and ½ cup of milk.
  • Whisk together the ingredients until fully incorporated.
  • Continue to whisk the mixture as you bring it to a low boil.
  • Continue to whisk for a few minutes until the syrup thickens.
  • Slowly whisk in additional milk if needed to reach your desired consistency.
  • Simmer the syrup for 30-60 seconds.
  • Remove from heat.
  • Serve warm or transfer to an airtight container and refrigerate until serving.
