- 1 cup unsalted butter softened
- 1 ½ cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs room temperature
- 2 Tablespoons milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
COATING:
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
PREP OVEN AND BAKING SHEETS:
MAKE COOKIE DOUGH:
In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt.
In a large bowl, cream together butter and 1 ½ cup sugar until fluffy and lightened in color.
Add eggs, milk, and vanilla extract and beat until smooth.
Gradually add the flour mixture and combine until no flour streaks remain.
BAKE AND COOL:
Bake for 8-10 minutes or until the cookies are slightly set in the center for a soft cookie, or longer if you want more of a crisp cookie.
Remove the baking sheets from the oven and cool on wire racks for 5 minutes. Then, remove the cookies from the baking sheets and cool completely on wire racks.
