When we were kids, we remember wanting to stay at home with our moms instead of going to school. When Jess asked her Mom if she could stay home, the answer was the same: “You don’t want to stay home with me; it is boring; I just lay around and eat bon bons all day.” She would always laugh, and Jess would go on her way to school.
Honestly, Jess never knew what her Mom meant but grew to believe it was just something moms did all day. Oh, was she wrong! Now that we are moms, we can appreciate her response. Don’t we all wish we could lie around all day eating bon bons?
While we may not have time for that, we do have time to whip up these Chocolate Peanut Butter Bon Bons and snack on them whenever we want because we are the Mom!
These bon bons are no ordinary treat. We add creamy peanut butter mixed with Rice Krispies and coat them with chocolate to satisfy your sweet tooth cravings. It is hard to eat just one! The creamy peanut butter combined with the slight crunch from the Rice Krispies and sweet chocolate is irresistible.
We recommend making a batch, sending your kiddos off to school, and then eating some of these sweet treats! Or whip up a batch to share with family and friends. This no-bake dessert will be one you want to make again and again.

- Next, rest a frozen peanut butter ball on top of a fork and dip the peanut butter ball into the melted chocolate. Spoon chocolate over the top of the ball until covered. Use the edge of the bowl to wipe off the excess chocolate from the fork.
- Finally, ay the dipped peanut butter ball onto the wax paper-lined baking sheet. Repeat with the remaining peanut butter balls and chocolate. Chill the balls in the freezer for 15 minutes or refrigerator for 30 minutes.

Recipe FAQs
They are a delicious sweet dessert covered in chocolate. Bon bons are believed to have first been created in the 17th century at the French Royal Court!
They are typically made with a creamy center. You may find a buttercream, marshmallow, or coconut cream filling inside them. In our recipe, we use a creamy peanut butter filling.
Truffles and bon bons are pretty similar. However, a truffle is made with only chocolate and cream. At the same time, bon bons can be made with a variety of ingredients, not just limited to chocolate, as mentioned previously above.

So happy you enjoyed it! It is so easy to make and our kids love it!
Liza says
These were really good and easy to make. I had to give up on melting the semisweet chocolate chips with Crisco as it turned into something that resembled a molten lava chocolate mixture. It no doubt may have been because I used coconut oil versus Crisco (?). Instead I melted the semisweet chocolate chips by themselves in the microwave.
Jess Jankowski says
We definitely recommend using Crisco over the coconut oil for melting the chocolate chips but so glad you were able to enjoy them!
